Some would say Ezra is asian but really he is from all over the world. Just like his wide cultural background comes also with his wide range of music. Being accepting of any type of music has helped him adapt to many different bands.
His up bringing was surrounded by music, where he could be found on the church stage at 2 years old jamming away with his fake guitar. Also with every member of his family playing at least one instrument and also able to sing. With this in his veins from the very beginning, he was destine to have a least a little bit of musical talent.
Just like the other 5 children he was introduced to piano lessons when he was deemed ready. From their his passion for music slowly developed with his piano skills expanding. Then it was to the guitar, then the bass, then the triangle and with a bit of singing throughout the journey.
Music hasn’t always been a part of my life. My father is sort of
tone deaf, but my mother can sing like no other! She was the one who inspired
me to warm those vocals up and try to hit a note that sounded average for a 7
year old.
Now I was no musical prodigy who dreamed of being a professional
musician, I just enjoyed singing around the house, in the shower, on the way to
school and wherever I felt comfortable. My Grandma passed away when I was very
little, and left behind her dust covered, out of tune piano which I would spend
countless hours on, running my finger up and down the black and white keys. On
my 14’th birthday my parents splurged a bit of money and handed me a steel
string acoustic Ashton guitar, I was then determined to teach myself some basic
chords from hours of constant YouTube tutorials and help from my peers.
I’ve
always been a self-taught musician; vocals, piano and guitar. Music will always
be a part of my life, whether I pursue it as a career or not is another
question, however it will always be woven into my lifestyle. :)
Elias Rundell:
Hello, my friends, my acquaintances, my equals, can call me
Elias. I’m a man of many talents, and a man of many tastes.
I enjoy the simple things in life… a nice warm dinner on a
cold night, or a cold dinner, on a warm night. I enjoy casual smiles from passers-by,
and long walks on the beach. I enjoy sipping a variety of the finest wines from
the south of France. Above all else, I enjoy, music. Music is life.
I hear music in my food, both cold and warm, I hear music in
a casual smile, and I hear music in long walks on the beach. I hear music in
the slow splash of South French wine. I hear music… in music.
I feel myself influenced, by so many forms and energies of
music. My favourite composers include mother nature; I just adore her songs;
the wind, the waves, the grass. What else…? So much. You are my musical
influence. People. People are music.
The favourite composer whom I have yet neglected to mention
however, is myself. The sound of my fingers on the fretboard is one which
surpasses all others. The vibrations I resonate throughout a guitar is perhaps
the only constant in this ever-changing ocean we call life. I believe the
secrets of this very universe lie hidden in the sounds I emanate, and I have
made it my purpose to someday unlock them.
It is my belief, that people need music to survive, just
like music needs people to survive. The people with whom I channel sounds and
energies to create a fine cocktail of musical fusions, finer than the wines of
Southern France, are the people my life is incensed with. The people are MOTHO.
MOTHO is me. I am MOTHO. My heart beats to the tempo of MOTHO’s frequencies.
The years of lived, have been lived for music, and for fine
wine. And for people, for meals, warm and cold, for casual smiles and long
strolls on the beach. The years I’ve lived are 17. 17 years of mother nature’s
songs. 17 years for MOTHO.
Caleb Reid:
I hate writing about myself for public use. Kills me. I’m all for diary-ing and journal-ing or whatever but honestly when band manager Big Daddy asked me to write a bio. Ew. Just thought I’d get that out of the way for y’all early. The music. I love music. It’s like the one language that race or ethnics has no effect on. It’s probably because we feel it as much as we hear it. I’ll be honest I’m not actually that good with it. I don’t spew lyrics like John Mayer, have a vocal range like Andrea Bocelli or shred a guitar like Elias Rundell. I just love it. I just really love music. So I chase it. I keep it involved it in my life. This happens in many different ways. But it’s always there and I suspect it always will be. So how did music, let's call it Jerry, how did Jerry and I get to know each other?Grandma kicked Jerry and my relationship off with the piano lessons and the gifted keyboard. Love my grandma, so does Jerry. One of my musical mentors and one of Jerry’s great friends Andrew Riek was like the best relationship counselor you could get and as a result Jerry and I took our relationship to a new level getting involved with other instruments, genres and the principle of actually working on the relationship. Jerry and I hung out (and still do) with John Mayer a lot thanks to Rieky. After that Jerry and I got heavily involved with church muso’s and youth muso’s and still love it today. Giving Jerry a deeper meaning through the glorious name of Jesus Christ made him become even more significant.Recently I’ve been a part of two bands the first being identity-issue-ridden, controversial band Rise Against Diversity. The second obviously being the promising and still growing MOTHO (ps the acronym will be released at Sol Bar gig). I’m still involved with the church and youth too and as I said love the significance of what Jerry does when allowed to interact with God.The future? Well. Jerry will be there. But that’s all I can give you for now. See you at a show. God bless,Caleb Reid.
Izaac Lilley:
My name is Izaac Benjamin Lilley; I have been playing piano for around 9
years now and drums for around 8 of those. My Dad use to get me up on the
church stage as a little kid with the tambourine and the egg shakers. Besides music,
I am deep into the #reefinghobby!!
Bands that inspire me are bands/composers such as: Reliant K, Muse, Hans
Zimmer, Beethoven, The Fray, John Mayer and many more. I enjoy a wide range of
music from orchestral to heavy metal but focus my musical playing to rock and
jazz/blues. Jazz/Blues is a pursuing passion as it is often felt and expresses
the musician's open emotions through the live performance.
I have been involved in various church bands and many small bands formed
with friends. MOTHO is one of these bands that we are wanting to take further.
My hope for the future is to spread joy through music, provide entertainment
and express my experiences/feelings through live performance.
